Spacer Adjustment
If you are having problems getting the Centerstand to swing
freely up and down then read this.
This is included because to date the only installation problem
anyone has
had that I am aware of was a result of the stand not floating free on the
spacers.
If your stand binds and does not move freely up and down then
read this before kicking the cat and throwing wrenches.
Neither will help, I have tried both.
Begin on the right side.
Right Side Spacer Mounting Instructions
1. The Centerstand Mount Tabs need to float on the spacers.
2. On this side (Right) be sure to install one (1) washer (Inside Adjustment
Washer)
between the spacer and the Crashbar Mount.
The Right Side assembly should look like what you see in the picture below.

____________________________________________________________________
Left Side Spacer Mounting Instructions.
The Centerstand Mounting Tabs MUST float on the spacers.
If the 10mm bolt, lockwasher, and outside flat washer press against the
Mounting Tab the Centerstand will bind and not swing up and down freely.
The 10mm bolt and outside washers should press against the spacer NOT THE
MOUNTING TAB.
Install as many Inside Adjustment Washers as there is room for
between the spacer and the Crashbar Mounting Tab on the LEFT side.
Usually there is room for 2.
Look at the following 3 pictures to see how the number of washers affect the
movement of the Centerstand.
Figure A
Figure A shows the 2 outside washers being pressed against the Centerstand
Mounting tab.
This is because there are no Inside Adjustment Washers in place as pictured
in
Fig. B (1 Inside Adj. Washer) and Fig. C (2 Inside Adj. Washers).
With no Inside Adjustment Washers in place the Centerstand may
bind and not swing up and down freely.

Figure B

Figure B shows 1 Inside Adjustment Washer in place.
This relieves the pressure of the 2 outer washers against the Centerstand
Mounting Tab.
You can see a bit of the spacer on the left of the Centerstand Mounting Tab.
The Inside Adjustment Washer allows the Centerstand to now swing free.

Figure C

Figure C shows 2 Inside Adjustment Washers in place.
You can see more of the spacer showing to the left of the Centerstand Mount
Tab.
There is usually room for 2 Inside Adjustment Washers to be installed.
If there is room use two. It is not necessary to force the second washer into
place.
If you have to use force don't put in a second washer.
On rare occassions there will be room for 3 Inside Adjustment Washers
The stand should swing free.
The whole point of the Inside Adjustment Washers is to place the spacer
correctly to keep the 10mm bolt and 2 outer washers from binding the Centerstand.
Remember: Start on the right side.
· Use one Inside Adjustment Washer on the right side.
· Move to the left side and use as many Inside Adjustment Washers as needed.
2 will usually fit.
If the stand does not swing freely up and down then check your Adjustment
Washers.
Do you have the installation correct?
It is possible to not get the spacer in the hole on the Centerstand Mount
Tab.
When the Centerstand is mounted correctly it should swing up and down freely
and have a bit of left to right movement in the up position.
