Installation Instructions
With Suzuki Bars
(July 27, 2003)
Do this on a level surface!
With the bike on it's kickstand or on a lift placed behind the kickstand:
Note:
When you remove the lower mounting bolts for the Suzuki Bars (front floorboard
bolt)
the Suzuki bars may tend to spring out at the bottom. If they do this it makes
installation
a bit harder. To keep this from being a problem simply loosen the top mounting
bolt
for the crash bars. You do not need to remove this bolt, just loosen and let
of the pressure
that causes the bottom of the bars to spring out. Don't forget to retighten
the bolt later.
Remove the front floorboard mounting bolt. This bolt also
holds the Suzuki Bars in position.

Position the stand in place lined up with the holes.
Be sure you have the stand in the up position.
If you try to install in the down position it won't work
unless the bike is raised on a jack so the stand can swing
back and forth.
Put washers and spacer in place using the longer
10 mm x 1.25 bolts, washers, and spacers that are provided.
The hardware is in the correct installation order when the
stand comes to you.
Also check the photo. (Just in case I messed up)
The photo is right even if I made a mistake stacking things up.

Start the right side first.
Put 1 (one) flat washer between the spacer and the Suzuki Tab.
See the photo above showing 2 washers. Only 1 is used on
the right side.
Don't tighten until the other side is in place and started.
On the left side if 2 washers will fit between the Display
Stand
mounting tab and the Suzuki Bar tab then use 2 washers. Don't force in
a second washer. Use 2 only if it slips eaisly in. The second washer
takes up space from variations in bike and Stand dimensions.
If too much space is there the steel spacer may bind and the
stand
not swing freely.
Tighten both bolts. The stand will swing loose on the spacers.
(I recommend using Lock Tite on the bolts
and nuts after your happy with everything)
Spring Installation
On the left side of the stand is the return spring.
This is how it looks when it's in place with the stand down.

You must install the spring with the stand up.
Slip the provided Carriage Bolt into the slot on the floorboard.
From underneath put a washer and nut on the the Carriage Bolt and tighten.
(I know, forgot the washer. Don't you forget)
Using the provided tool slip the spring onto the Carriage
Bolt.
Place the spring on the tool and the tool on the
carriage bolt.
Raise the free end of the tool up and help the
spring slide off of the tool onto the bolt.
Push the spring all the way up the Carriage Bolt.
Use a pair of pliers to close the loop on the spring a bit.
Put on the Stop Nut and tighten.

Installed Display Stand in down position.
That's it!
You did retighten the upper mounting bolt
for the Crash Bars,
Didn't You?
Now
Raise The Bike Onto The Stand
Stand on whichever side of the bike you want to. Place your
foot on the
adjustable leg and push down. Hold the leg in place against the ground.
Pull up and back on the handle bars.
The bike should roll up into place without a lot of effort.
The Display Stand comes adjusted to fit my bike.
You don't want to have to work hard to get the bike on the stand.
But you should have to exert some effort.
If it goes on the Stand real easy it usually comes off easy too.
If it is too easy it may roll off when you don't want it to.
Adjust the legs if necessary to suit you.
To lower the bike simply place your toe in front of the adjustable
foot
to keep it from slipping and push the bike forward.
On a smooth concrete floor you should not be able to take
the bike off of
of the stand without your foot in front of the leg. If the bike comes off
that
easy it could come off when you don't want it to. On a rough surface you may
not need to use your foot in front of the leg.
Check out the stability of the bike.
Carefully !!!
Learn the limits of the stand.
The stand is not meant to be used for heavy mechanical work.
The bike can be pushed off of the stand. BE CAREFULL !!!
Inspect the stand periodically. Check for tight bolts and
general
condition of the stand.
A rubber tube is supplied to slip over one leg of the
Display Stand if you notice a noise when riding. Somtimes the leg
will hit against the floorboard mounting bracket. So if you notice
a new knock check it out. Mine did it at various speeds. It also did it
while parked on the kickstand. Rev it up and it would knock.
That made it easy to locate. Slip the tube over the leg and
the noise will go away.
It would be nice if all the squeaks, knocks, and thumps were
this easy to fix.
If you have install problems and
can't get your stand to swing
up and down freely then
