"No Bars"
Version of the
LC1500 Display Stand
Installation Instructions
The first Shadetree Shop LC1500 Display Stands
were designed to work in conjunction with the mounting
tab on Highway Bars.
If your running without Highway Bars you have
no tab to provide a positive stop for our stand.
So, we provide 2 tabs to emulate the mounting tabs.

This piece bolts on using the mounting holes for the floorboard mounts.

This shot shows the Striker Plates, Display Stand, and Return Spring in place.
Install the Striker Plates:
· Begin on the left-hand side.
You are going to remove the bolts holding the floorboard
mounts to the frame. The Striker Plate fits on the outside of the floorboard
mounting bracket. Remove both mounting bolts from
the floorboard mounting brackets. (See NOTE below) Slide the Striker Plate into position and put in both mounting bolts.
Tighten the bolts down but remember that you will have to
remove the front bolt in a couple of minutes.
NOTE: On my bike if I tighten down the rear mounting bolt it makes
the front of the mounting bracket flare out and makes it
VERY hard to align bolts and holes.
So, leave the mounting bolts loose.
· Now the right hand side.
The connection between the Rear Brake Fluid Resouver and the
floorboard makes it hard to align the bolts when installing the
Striker Plate if you remove both bolts at the same time.
I recommend taking the front bolt out and slipping the Striker
plate in position and putting the front bolt into place.
With this bolt in place now remove the rear bolt and slip the rear
of the Striker Plate into place and reinstall the rear bolt.
Install the Center Stand:
· Begin on the Right Side.
Remove the front floorboard mounting bracket bolt.
With the Center Stand in position install the provided
10 mm bolt with washers and spacer in the positions shown.
Use only 1 washer on the right inside as pictured.
Do not tighten the 10 mm bolt yet.
Just run it down and leave it a bit loose.
Note: if you are using a lift you can have the center stand
in the extended position. If you are on the kickstand then the
center stand needs to be in the partially folded up position
when being installed.
· Install Left Side:
Remove the front floorboard mounting bracket bolt.
Put the Center Stand in position and line up the holes in the Striker Plate,
floorboard mounting bracket, and Center Stand mounting holes.
Put in the provided 10 mm bolt with washers and spacer as pictured.
You may need to use 2 washers on the inside on the right side.
Tighten all bolts down now.
At this point the Display Stand should swing up and down freely.
Don't forget the rear mounting bolts still need to be tightened.

If you have install problems and
can't get your stand to swing
up and down freely then

this link.
Now install the return spring.
Spring Installation
On the left side of the stand is the return spring.
This is how it looks when it's in place with the stand down.

You must install the spring with the stand up.
Slip the provided Carriage Bolt into the slot on the floorboard.
From underneath put a washer and nut on the the Carriage Bolt and tighten.
(I know, forgot the washer. Don't you forget)
Using the provided tool slip the spring onto the Carriage
Bolt.
Place the spring on the tool and the tool on the
carriage bolt.
Raise the free end of the tool up and help the
spring slide off of the tool onto the bolt.
Push the spring all the way up the Carriage Bolt.
Use a pair of pliers to close the loop on the spring a bit.
Put on the Stop Nut and tighten.
Oil Change Note:
You may not be able to remove the oil filter
out the front over the centerstand.
If the filter will not pass over the centerstand crossbar
you can
slip the filter out between the frame and the shift lever.
