LC 1500
Centerstand for Intruders
using

MC Enterprises Engine Guard.

There appears to have been changes made by MC to the mounting
tabs used on their crashbars.
Click HERE to see a picture of the MC mounting tab
that WILL NOT work with my Display Stand.

The Centerstand I am making only fits the MC Guard pictured below.
The standard Cobra bars have nearly the same profile as the MC
and can be confused with the MC at times.
Be sure to check the tab AND the profile if you don't know the brand of bar you have.

The ONLY MC Bar the Centerstand will fit is the one
with the mounting
tab like the one pictured above.

This Engine Guard was ordered from JC Whitney on March 20th, 2004
Catalog # 114J-03 Early Spring Rider Motorcycle Catalog.

This link works on March 23, 2004. It may not work forever. Perhaps you could also
go to www.jcwhitney.com and type in the stock number and do a search.

I understand that there may be other MC Enterprises Engine Guards out there.
This is the one Whitney shipped me and the one my Centerstand fits.
Pictures of other MC Crashbars show that they are enough different that the Centerstand
will not work on any other MC Enterprises Engine Guards.

The picture above shows the shape of the MC Enterprises Engine Guard from the front.
Neither Cobra or Suzuki have this profile shape.

There are slight differences in the mounting tabs of the Cobra, Suzuki, and MC Engine Guards.
This difference will not allow Centerstands to be use with Engine Guards other than the one the
Centerstand was designed for.
If you buy a Centerstand for a particular Engine Guard and at a later time change Guards then
Contact me and I'll try to explain what changes need to be made to make the Stand work with your
new Engine Guard.

The pictures show the MC Enterprises Engine Guards mounted on my 2001 LC1500.

There are a couple of things to remember when changing
oil while using the Centerstand.

I did not attempt to change oil filters with the
MC Enterprises Engine Guard and the Centerstand
installed. The Cobra Engine Guard will not let a Chrome Oil Cover
be removed with the Centerstand in place. The MC Engine Guard
may be the same.

1.
You may not be able to remove a chrome
oil filter cover without droping one side of the display stand.

Workaround: Remove the chrome cover before installation
of the stand. Leave it off.

OR

Leave it on and when you need to change filters remove the
right side mounting bolt for the stand and the cover will slip right off.
While the stand is down remove the filter and replace with a new one.

2.
With the stand installed the filter must be removed through the
hole on the right side between the shifter and the frame.
Lay a rag over the frame and floorboard mount
to catch any dripped oil. The filter slips right through. Or # 1 above.
